In April 2009 all the seats in the theatre/cinema were replaced after a grant was received from Devon County Council from the sale of Exeter airport. County Councillor John Rawlinson was instrumental in securing this funding for The Plough.
In order to create further funding for other urgent capital projects around the arts centre we are inviting individuals or businesses to sponsor a new seat.
In return for £150 you can have ten words on a plaque on a seat of your choosing for the next ten years. Over 40 seats have been sponsored so far. People have used this as an opportunity to remember a loved one, celebrate a birth or to have their own name or company name on a seat. Others have delighted in the chance to write something witty, profound or simply bizarre! The choice is yours...
