A celebratory exhibition of favourite themes, Arks and Angels is inspired by a delight in the detail to be found in English churches and vernacular architecture. Interpreting very much from a personal perspective the resulting artworks will be quirky and humorous with references to daily life and landmarks. The exhibition will also feature work showing their ongoing interest in exploring the coasts and landscapes of Devon and Cornwall. Nature, the interplay of man, animals and the elements in defining our environment, is explored with a lightness of touch and appreciation for its beauty. Tim Martin Through

New Work by Tim Martin

This exhibition of new paintings and drawings made especially for The Plough Gallery space focuses on the landscape of Devon. These responses to places, sights and journeys translate into vibrant abstracted works.

Tim Martin trained in Liverpool before moving to Devon in the 1980’s. He has exhibited widely across the South West as well as in London. As part of this exhibition Tim has been working with pupils from local secondary schools to create a sculpture which will be on display at RHS Rosemoor during July and August 2010.

Saturday 10 July Artists Talk & Walk The artist, Tim Martin, will lead a guided walk and talk around his innovative exhibition at RHS Rosemoor. This event is free but must be pre-booked by contacting The Plough on: 01805 624624. There will be a limited number of tickets available which also include free entry to Rosemoor.

Mary Courtenay ‘A Natural Connection’

6 – 28 August, Preview Friday 6, 7pm

She started painting seriously in the mid 1960’s when she worked with the artist, Leslie Marr, who taught her to explore the spiritual connection between the artist and the subject. Using Leslie’s teachings and her own exploration of vibrant colour, the finer details of her work bear witness to her technical knowledge and deep understanding of her subjects.
